To coincide with the launch of Jeffrey Bowman’s new portfolio site he was kind enough to create a header for FFF this week.

I had a quick catch up with Jeffrey this morning to ask him about the new site.

FFF: So what finally pushed you to launch a new site

JB: I updated my site because I had a holding page for about 18months and just a tumblr with a un-curated pile of work. I really wanted to get this right so have taken my time over the last year to create the site, really trying to get into the head space of my clients and potential collaborators and offer them a full experience across the site. As well as connect with the design community in a fun way.

FFF: What was the trickiest part about the relaunch?

JB: The most difficult thing has been curating so much work, getting the right balance and direction as my work spans so many years and so many different types of work. Its a tough job for anyone I think getting it right, hopefully i have.

FFF: Can you tell us a bit more about the setup of your site?

JB: The site was made by the super talented and close friend of mine Robert Loeber. It’s a wordpress site and he did all the wizardry, I just made sure it was designed and functional for the user experience.

FFF: Which other channels are you making use of?

JB: I use Tumblr, Linkedin and Twitter, they are the best 3 in my eyes as they all perform their own individual functions but work together to keep a consistent brand image. I use Tumblr as a curated inspiration resource, blogging all the cool stuff I find, Linkedin for my professional communication and twitter as a platform to be more open and give insights into my daily tasks. In the coming weeks my blog will be taking more of a prominence and something of a resource for everyone.

FFF: Do you feel that being proactive about your work on social media is beneficial?

JB: I think anything that helps get your work out there is beneficial, especially for the young design community, over the years I’ve figured out good balance for my own work, its become more focused. From here on it it’s going to be more brand focused giving people insights into my work and what I’m up to in the mountains.
