Coraline: probably the worlds smallest knitting

Coraline is the first stop motion film to be made using stereoscopic 3D. Directed by Henry Selick of Nightmare Before Christmas fame, it has a lot of the same charm and intriguing nuances of said movie. The movie website is just as intriguing as the movie and worth taking a look at. Should be an interesting one if you’re a fan of more traditional methods of animating.

What captured my imagination the most was the plethora of showcase style interviews for the folks who worked on the movie. Show here is one of the crew who specialises in ‘miniature conceptual knitting’ which is amazing, plush they had me with the knitting bit. There’s a whole load more of them to watch over at the Coraline YouTube Channel. There’s definitely a real sense of craftsmanship and good hard work gone into this movie.
