BBC Olympics 2012

The BBC unveiled the title sequence and marketing campaign for the London 2012 Olympic Games today. A 60-second trailer was broadcast during half-time in the Euro 2012 final last night. Based on a “Stadium UK” concept, the animation will be seen on television coverage throughout the summer.

Put together by creative agency Rainey Kelly Campbell Roalfe Y&R with outstanding animation by Passion Pictures and produced by Red Bee Media.

The slightly exaggerated features of the characters are spot on. It’s got great pace and energy and certainly get’s me pretty excited about the olympics. Imagine a game-developer actually making a game to that high a standard for the olympics instead of the usual ‘throw away’ olympic games console title!
