Out The Box #9: Patrick Thomas

Out The Box #9: Patrick Thomas

29th April 2017 — Hanover, Germany

Next month we’ll be co-hosting the 9th Out The Box event in Hanover, Germany. This time with graphic artist, author and educator Patrick Thomas (from Liverpool, UK).

After studying in London, Patrick relocated to Barcelona in 1991 where he founded the multidisciplinary art space Studio laVista in 1997. In 2008 he established a silkscreen press and since then has exhibited his limited-edition prints — of which he has published in excess of 200 editions — across five continents where many are now held in private and public collections.

Currently he lives and works between Berlin, Barcelona and London. Since October 2013 he is professor of Kommunikationsdesign at Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Stuttgart.

Tickets are available from today so if you are in the area in April, go and grab one.

WTF is Out The Box?

Out The Box is a quarterly event where talented designers are asked to improvise in front of a live audience, inspired by objects taken out of a box. The speakers don’t have a clue about what’s inside. This exposes the speakers and presents them in an unpredictable, unscripted and unrehearsed manner. So far Eike König, Deutsche Japaner, Mario Lombardo, Andreas Uebele, Peter Zizka, Willem Stratmann, On No Oh Yes and Trapped in Suburbia visited us at Out The Box.
