7th - 10th June 2017 — Glasgow, United Kingdom
No Opportunity is an initiative offering new creative & design talent the chance to showcase their work in a gallery setting.
Inspired by the amount of emerging talent that contacts the studio on a weekly basis, Glasgow design team Jamhot decided they needed to do something to give emerging creatives the chance to have their voice heard.
The event offers designers, photographers, writers, makers and other creators the opportunity to have their work displayed from 7th – 10th June at Veneer Gallery in Glasgow’s Finnieston District.
‘We’re a small studio, and every week we get a lot of emails from folk looking for placements, internships, work experience, freelance and full time positions. As a small studio we don’t have the time, space or resource to accommodate even a fraction of the requests, and send off loads of emails saying ’sorry, but we have no opportunities at present.’ We got fed up of sending these useless replies to people so we thought we would do something different instead and that’s how the exhibition came about.’ explains Graeme McGowan at Jamhot.
Entries are invited from students, graduates, new, emerging & under-utilised talent, with the final deadline for entries on 26th May.
